Great Resource for Print Designers + Haiku Advertising

Stay up to date on advertising trends for around the world. And yes, there is plenty of print ad stuff posted here!

In my never-ending quest for cool resources and sites of interest to printers and print designers, I came across Ads of the World.com.

Two excellent posts I came across on Digg today and that are well worth checking out:

The difference between Marketing, PR, Advertising and Branding.

and

Some hilarious examples of what used to pass for compelling advertisement.

I'd like to see Ads of the World do a series or the recent wave of Haiku advertising I've been noticing. Particularly in the world of beverages, I've been seeing a lot of this type of thing:

Cool splash of flavor
Prepare to be transported
To the land of Quench

I've even seen the old haiku saw recently popularized by Threadless being plastered shamelessly over bus benches and billboards:

Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator

It seems like through the Haiku, the marketing world has finally found a poetic medium short enough to be worthy of an advertisement. The slighting offbeat way that a Haiku sits on the consumer palette hooks by convincing you that maybe this isn't a regular ad, maybe it's offering something more, like...art.

Have you seen any interesting examples of Haiku advertising out there? Let me know about it! Maybe if I can gather enough cool specimens, we can do our own Haiku advertising showcase here on Hotcards!
